Guest letter from:
From: Otto Nobedder
To: NW Pro 4 Trucks
Once again I would like to thank each and every truck racer for allowing me to share the track at WVSO.
Also, the great help I received loading, unloading and medical aid and attention.
Green, white and checkered flag racing that we had, with nearly all on the lead lap is not a miracle...nor new for the NW Pro 4 Trucks!
Just a few race kinks.
My pajama style old driving suit is once again retired. It'll be hanging on the wall (blood and all) in the shop of the "Coyote" and home of Gail's "Critter Truck"!!
I will donate my camber/caster gauge to this race team. No more changing by eyeball just for me...Wiley!
Actually, the multi-colors of black, blue, purple and blood red look great together, while driving side-saddle is something I've always wanted to do.
You all are still a pretty darn good grouping of folks. In fact, I'm very proud of what my old gang members and assorted competitors have done and become.
You've proven many things and "if" a book was written would give inspiration to any fair minded person.
You see....racing is and really always has been and will be about just one common, none of us is right in the head.
The newer NW Pro 4 Truckers give me great hope. Yes, my past is overfull with far to much about this sport to mention, but there is one item I'd like to point out. The last time I was in a truck at
WVSO was 2004. We saw 21 trucks enter the pits that day. That did not happen by accident nor the me, myself and I attitude.
These rare trucks have been around now pushing 20 years, before and since "Otto" and always it has taken extreme dedication and sharing and hard work above and beyond ANY thing else.
I've seen some of it elsewhere of Glory Days Past.
It's tough to serve two or more masters at a time.
Far to many trucks sitting around as flower pots!
If anyone thinks a fairy god mother will have a wand to put trucks on the track you are dead wrong.
Dead is what truck racing in the Pacific Northwest will be if race trucks already built, don't find the race track as soon as yesterday. "Otto ain't gonn' hear ya buddy, unless you get to the track on race day, in the truck ready to race, finish while looking good! I've earned my retirement, but my priority still remains the same.
Whatcha' thinking Bubba?
Green, white and checkered all finished. Good Job Guys.

FALLEN HEROES RACE WON BY
#5 KEVIN BELL IN HIS RETURN TO THE NWPRO4 TRUCKS!
YAKIMA SPEEDWAY - 2012 FALLEN HEROES RACE - MAY 5, 2012
Story by Matt Maynard
Well the start of the 2012 season for the NW Pro 4 Trucks has finally arrived, Saturday May 5th in Yakima the trucks once again hit the track and took the green flag on the season! 12 trucks showed up for the Fallen Heroes opener, and took to the track for some warm ups, shake downs, and to nock some of that rust off. Early in the day trouble had already started for a couple of our guys. The #7 (Matt G) truck lost the bottom end on Friday night practicing at Monroe. Matt and his Dad Aaron spent a late night before and early morning of the race throwing together the backup motor just to make the first event. While out for practice the #7 lost compression and while trying to get to pit road turned the #55 (Jerry B.) our defending champion. This accident would end the day early for the #7 and also the #55 with some minor body damage and a not so minor broken axel.
At the end of practice heading into qualifying we were down to 10 trucks. All 10 made it thru the scales and tech and lined up for their first qualifying effort of the year. This year we are throwing in a new qualifying order, which is based on points. Being the first race of the season we reverted back to last year's points. #55 being our champion had elected to go last. This set the lineup from fewest to most points. With the 2 trucks that did not race last year going out first the order was: 22 (Jason M.), 5 (Kevin B.), 8 (Josh C.), 3 (JR K.), 17 (Mike W.), 53 (Doug W.), 75 (Mike N.), 85 (Mike T.), 6 (Aaron G.), and the 58 (Terry W.). Fast time was set by the 22 of Jason Majors! With only 3 trucks within 1 sec. of the fast time, and one of them rookie 75 Mike Nelson (going to the rear of the field as a rookie) that set up only a 2 truck invert for the main event! Due to the number of classes running we were only given Dashes and the Main event. The A Dash was made up of the 4 fastest trucks lined up 5,75,17,22 and finished in the same order with past champion 22 Jason Majors looking like he was in a drifting competition by how loose his truck was. Jason's experience keeps him off the walls and tightens it up for the Main.
The B Dash was made up of the 4 trucks with the closest times 8,3,53,85. #3 jumped out to an early lead only to be run down by the 53 of Doug W. who took the checkered flag first. Congratulations to our Dash winners Kevin B. and Doug W. great job!
On to our Main event, 17,22 start on the front row with the 2 truck invert. 5,58,85,53,3,6,75 (to the rear as a rookie),8 (to the rear with mechanical issues). That's how the field was set for our 40 lap main that didn't start until 11:20 under the lights. With the trucks lined up 2 by 2 they take the green flag and just that quick the 4th place 58 truck of Terry W. coast across the line and into the pits with fuel pump issues. Back on the track the 22 of Majors jumps out to an early lead over the 17,5, and the rest of the field. By lap 5 the 75 of Nelson came from last to the 4th position to start working on running down the 5 of Bell for 3rd. Lap 7 the 8 of Josh C. pulls into the pits to retire in the 9th position, then on lap 9 both the 75 and 3 come off the track with mechanical problems. The #3 of JR K. would retire in the 8th spot. Lap 10 the 85 goes a lap down to the 22, followed by the 6 on lap 17 and 53(fuel issues) on lap 18. 85 goes 2 laps down right at the half way point. Running order at half way was 22,17,5, lap down 53,6, and 85 is 2 laps down. At this point in the race the 22 has set sail on the field with 17 and 5 fighting for second place about 5 truck lengths behind the leader. Lap 24 as the 17 truck starts to get more and more loose the 5 gets better and makes his way by the 17 and sets his sights on the 22 truck. Lap 29 the 85 goes 3 laps down to the leader and lap 30 the 6 loses a second lap. Lap 33 the 75 truck re-enters the race down 24 laps, just as he comes back out the 22 slows coming out of turn 2 with the 5 and 17 easily getting by! Lap 34 the caution comes out for the 22 of Majors who led every lap from the start of the race till now and has to be towed to his pit with drivetrain problems. The race is now set to restart with 6 laps to the checkered. The field is bunched back up single file out of turn 4 it's now the 5,17 on the lead lap, 53(1 lap down), 6(2 laps), 85(3 laps), and 75(24 laps). Green flag back in the air and the 5 takes off with the 17 right on his bumper and now the 53's fuel issue is cleared up and the 53 and 75 are racing each other hard. Lap 36 the 17 of Mike W. blows a left rear tire and has to duck to pit road. This leaves the 5 truck the only one left on the lead lap although Kevin is unaware that the 53 is a lap down he sees him closing the gap now and pushes harder to stay ahead of Doug, which he does. Kevin Bell #5 takes the checkered flag to win the opener and his first race back in a truck after a few years off! Finishing order is 5, 53, 6, 85, 17dnf, 22dnf, 75, 3dnf, 8dnf, 58dnf, 55dns, 7dns.
Congratulations to #5 Kevin Bell on winning both the A Dash and the Main Event putting the Duck Truck in victory lane and on top of the 2012 points standings after race 1! Crazy night of racing and thank you to all the drivers, crew, fans, and sponsors of the NW Pro 4 Truck Tour for your support! We thank you and hope to see everyone at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe on May 19th for race #2 on the fast 3/8's!
